Stanford researches have found that a smartphone app can detect Cancer. The software application uses a smartphone to take and sends photos back to a data repository where a medical professional can review and analyze the images for abnormalities or what may appear to be cancerous lesions on the skin by reviewing these high quality photos and flagging where a potential serious health issue may have been identified.
